August 15, 2010 during the Off road race called the California 200 a typical off road crash turned deadly. It’s very unfortunate for all families and friends effected by this. All blessings from Cali Canna Collective Group (CaliCCG) go out to you all.
The story is that 28 year old Brett Sloppy of San Marcos hit a jump known as “the rock-pile” while racing a lifted Ford Ranger.

Once landing he was hard on the brakes and the truck slide sideway’s, then rolled and landed upside down.

Now this is not a “crazy accurence”, this is Off Road Racing.
The problem is that in many of these off road races, including the CA 200, they do not have guardrails. There is 50 miles of a course to cover. No “security team” could do that, and if so the costs would make racing impossible. Unfortunately many of race fans, especially the younger ones, love to get very close to the trucks and buggies as they race by.

It is that the crash and close fans came together that really made this crash so bad.

Without being able to see the vehicles go by, the sport loses much of it’s fan appeal. That fan appeal leads to big business here in our area. In Southern California, especially in Orange County, Inland Empire and areas surrounding San Diego we see how huge this sport is. You can see hundreds of shops that prep or make these vehicles. Many chase trucks or team vehicles can be seen driving on the road daily. Sense the late 60’s and early 70’s these types of races have been going on in Southern California and Mexico.
Hopefully they can figure out a solution that will keep this sport safe, and fun for many more years to come.

Thanks to our friends at NORML we bring to you an really amazing video

A few years ago our friends in the battle for Marijuana reform over at NORML (The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) set up a 30 second video contest in support of cannabis legalization. I don’t know the number of videos they received but one stood out so much it’s now on their front page.

Every once in awhile someone or something makes a big impression in your mind, this video did just that to me.

This is really amazing, with no spoken words the creator was able to tell a story better than anyone I have ever heard. The story as I interpret it is this:

A long time ago someone found a flower that had “magical powers”. This flower was able to make people that used it happy, rid their pain and create a thriving economy. Then one day someone of power decided that they didn’t like this flower, and they made it illegal. They rid the world of this great flower. After that, the world went to war. The economy went upside down. People found other more harmful way’s to try to find that “happiness” the flower brought them. This flower became an underground crime commodity and sent many innocent people to jail. Here is this video, it opened my mind. I hope it will open a few of yours…

This is the first time in awhile that one of our Vendors brings something totally unheard of to the Collective…

Frank n Berry?

Until two days ago I had never heard of such a thing, but now I am happy to know of it!

Looks

Beautiful solid purple nugs, and when I say solid I mean it. It looks as if a grape magically changed into a Marijuana flower. Every 10th nug or so has a little pebble size patch of medium shade green but other then that its a bowl of grapes! The orange pistils pop with the dark background and make for a picture perfect wall art worthy image.

Flavor

Very strong flavor, a little fruity with a heavy skunk taste. The flavor is very new to me, just like this strain itself! Most purple strains have some fruitiness to the taste but this one is much more skunk like. Most Sativa or Sativa dominant strains have an earthy or spicy taste. This is no exception except the spiciness is mixed in with the skunk. Spicy skunk!

Effects

They effectiveness of this strain is a little lighter then expected. However! The effects lasted much longer then anticipated. It’s definitely a creeper. If your feeling the effects for 2+ hours, its a strong medication! Frank n Berry had me on a Sativa high roller coaster for around 3 hours, lightly energizing but for a long time.

Take A Look

More information on Prop 19!

This year’s Prop 19 has picked up key endorsements from labor and civil rights advocates says CALICCG and CANORML. The California chapter of the NAACP announced its “unconditional support” for the initiative, citing a study for the Drug Policy Alliance by Prof. Harry Levine showing that blacks are disproportionately arrested for marijuana offenses in every one of California’s 25 largest counties.

Overall, blacks are 332% as likely as whites to be arrested for marijuana and five times as likely to be imprisoned. “We have empirical proof that the application of the marijuana laws has been unfairly applied to our young people of color,” declared NAACP President Alice Huffman, “Justice is the quality of being just and fair and these laws have been neither just nor fair. “

The initiative has also picked up support from labor unions, beginning with United Food and Commercial Workers Local 5, which recently organized 100 cannabis workers in Oaksterdam.

The Communications Workers of America Local 9415 also endorsed the initiative, citing a California NORML report that legalization could create some 60,000 to 110,000 new jobs.

The city councils of Oakland and Berkeley have also unanimously endorsed the initiative, which would give their cities the power to legalize, tax and regulate marijuana for adult use as called for in previously approved local ordinances

Polls show a tight race in the offing. A campaign poll by EMC Research, Inc. found that likely voters favored the initiative by 51% to 40%. Another poll by KPIX news found support for legalizing at 56%-42%. Yet another by the Public Policy Institute found just 49%-48% support. An LA Times/USC poll found the initiative leading by a shaky majority of 49% – 41%, with one-third of supporters having reservations. Support is highest among Democrats and youth, while opposition is strongest among Republicans, the elderly, and those who have never tried marijuana.

“The good news for proponents is that they are starting off with a decent lead,” said Dan Schnur, director of USC’s Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics, “The good news for the opposition is that initiatives that start off at less than 50% in the polls usually have a hard time.”

CaliCCG has got the best medicated pizzas around!

It’s a great day we live in, year 2010 is really something else. Medical Marijuana is now readily available to patients in many states now. We have the opportunity to get Top Shelf Medicine delivered right to our door front.

We have also learned how to extract the THC and Cannabanoids out of marijuana and put it into edilble treats! Up until a few years ago “bud brownies” were one of the only edibles around. Most of the time these porely made treats would have chunks of marijuana visibly in them. The potency was always hit or miss, and they were never made with the best ingredients.

BUT NOW!

Here in year 2010 we have rice crispy treats, rocky road treats, many different flavor brownies and today’s main topic PIZZA! These wonderful footlong pizzas are what dreams are made of. Fresh French bread with a tasty marinara and your choice of either Peperoni or just plain mozzarella cheese. However, is “plain mozzarella cheese” all that plain after you add your favorite toppings to it? I didn’t think so! Again, it’s 2010 think outside the box. Get what you want and how you want it.

Call 714.272.4585 now to get your medication delivered right to your door! We told you it was just like a pizza delivery, 30-45 minute delivery.

Prop 19 is back for your voting pleasure!

So 38 years ago we had the chance to Vote Yes on Prop 19 for Legalization of Marijuana in California. At that time there was still a negative connotation with Marijuana. People thought it was as bad as Cocaine and Herion. Now the Federal Government may still think that, but the people of that government know it’s a big joke!

Now it’s 2010!

Medical Marijuana has been legal in California sense 1996, and in general people are getting more accustomed to marijuana usage. Many of the baby boomers have grown up. A large percentage of these “baby boomers” used marijuana back in there hay day. They know there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, they know the truth about Marijuana. The truth is this:

No one in the history of the United States has died from Marijuana or it’s effects.

To me, it’s that simple. Millions have died from alcohol and cigarettes, which the government heavily taxes everyday. You don’t have to wonder why they are legal! Uncle Sam makes millions if not billions off these two products. At the age of 18 you have the right to buy tobacco. At 18 many young adults are to immature to even care about the side effects of this horrible “cancer stick.” People die everyday from this plant’s “side effects.” However Marijuana’s side effects are happiness, relaxation, and hunger! I know it also works wonders for many ailments. From the horrible effects of cancer, chemo and radiation(sometimes from the legal drug, tabacco). To something as minor as having a rough day. Menstrual cramps can almost disappear with a little bit of this wonder plant, and insomnia has no chance against a heavy Indica!

So as a state let’s make a change! Let’s do something amazing together! In November when Prop 19 comes to vote, let’s all VOTE YES!

I for one would love for everyone to have the right to try this amazing plant. I believe that’s what America stands for, rights.

Sativa strain’s, and why we love them.

Most Medical Marijuana patients that have been using medicinal marijuana for a descent amount of time know about the Sativa phenotype. This is for the new patient, or patients who want to know more!

What It Looks Like

Sativa plants themselves differ from Indica’s in many ways. Think of a Sativa plant as a polar opposite to the Indica plant. The leaves are thin and long. The plant is skinny and tall, as opposed to the short bushy Indica.

Sativa’s Medicinal Uses

Here is a short list of some of the ailments Sativa’s are known to help best.
Chronic Pain
Anxiety
Depression
Aids
Loss of Appetite
Effects of Chemo & Radiation
Gout
Fibromyalgia
And so much more…

Effects

When you medicate with a Sativa, you will feel the effects mostly in your mind. It gives you an energized euphoric feeling. Depending on the potency of your medication, it will help reduce mild to severe pain. Increase of apatite, which is great for cancer patients undergoing chemo/radiation. For patients with depression, this medication can turn your frown upside down! These are just a few Medicinal uses for the Sativa phenotype.

Types

Some Sativa plants/strains have come from different countries, and some have been created here. The infamous Trainwreck was created in Humboldt County and is a Sativa staple all throughout California. I could search for months and find hundreds to thousands of different Sativa strains, but here are some of the more popular strains available in California.

Trainwreck
Green Crack
Headband
Jack Herer
Lambs Bread
The Purps
Purple Haze
Snow Cap
Sour Diesel
Super Silver Haze
Strawberry Cough

What It Looks Like

Indica plants themselves differ from Sativas in many ways. An Indica plant is short and bushy, as are the leaves. Imagine your hand spread out. Your fingers being the leaves of an Indica plant would be very wide and short.

Indica’s Medicinal Uses

Here is a short list of some of the ailments Indica’s are known to help best.

Acute Pain
Insomnia
Anxiety
Aids
Cancer
Chemo Therapy
Loss of Appetite
Panic Attacks
Gout
Fibromyalgia

Effects

When you medicate with an Indica, you will feel the effects mostly in your body. It gives you a calm, relaxed feeling. Depending on the potency of your medication, it will help reduce mild to severe pain. Increase of apatite, which is great for cancer patients undergoing chemo/radiation. For insomnia patients this all natural medication has been known to beat any other form of sleeping medication (Lunesta, Melatonin and Ambien etc.) These are just a few Medicinal uses for the Indica phenotype.

Types

Some Indica plants/strains have come from different countries, and some have been created here. The infamous OG Kush, also known as Ocean Grown Kush(not Organic Kush or Original Ganster Kush) was created in Northern California. I could search for months and find hundreds to thousands of different Indica strains, but here are some of the more popular strains available in California.

OG Kush
Bubba Kush
Master Kush
Platinum Kush
Richie Rich
Skunk
Princess Kush
Blackberry Kush
Blueberry Kush
Grape Ape
Grand Daddy Purple

A Club Favorite

This Sativa Dominant hybrid (60% Sativa & 40% Indica) is our #1 Club Favorite. This batch in particular might be the most potent we have had yet.

About Vader

Very flavorful and gorgeous light purple and green buds covered in trichomes.
